Rijeka intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for a project to Rijeka District Heating, aiming at rehabilitation of district heating network in Rijeka City, supply and installation of two gas fired boilers to supply heat to the University Campus, The City General Hospital and the residential house in the area, building a new combined heat and power plant and supply and installation of cooling equipment for district cooling services for the City General Hospital. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 10.3 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services: Phase 1: 1) Rehabilitation of existing District Heating network 2) Implementation of integrated energy management 3) Implementation of two heat only gas fired boilers system Phase 2: 1) Supply and installation of a new combined heat and power plant (CHP) 2) Supply and installation of cooling equipment for district cooling services The technical assistance component will include: Phase 2: 1) Construction supervision Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2015 and continue into 2016. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
